It’s a village, really

Amsterdam that is. You can bump (or ride) into someone you know at any moment. Those spontaneous meet ups on your bike are the best, right? Makes up for the random hail storm you just biked through seconds before.

I saw these guys chatting it up, laughing, and recounting some silly story. Some definite bromance going on. Has this happened to you? How many friends have you seen randomly on a single ride or in a day?

  1. Speaking of “bros”. Please tell me in dutch style – is a bro on a bicycle, accepted on both step through frames and diamond frames? As a kid in the states I was raised that step through frame was for ladies, and diamond frame for men. Is that viewpoint irrelevant in dutch eyes? I’m very curious as I have my eye on a work cycles, but not sure if step through is appropriate for manly side 😉 Step through seems more pleasant !

    • In Amsterdam, a bike is a bike no matter the frame. You see lots of men riding “ladies” bikes and it doesn’t matter – as long as the tires are full and the bike rides!
